Frank Baldwin the proprietor of Business Battlefields writes.
"I first became interested in using military history to solve modern problems when looking at the parallels between the Seven Years War and the modern Army. While completing my MBA at Warwick Business School I became aware of its application to business.
Since then I
have worked with several organisations, helping them to explore how
they can learn from historic examples.
Simon Chapman, as an
Associate brings both management experience and an intellect
exposed to both military and business
strategy."
Simon Chapman is a Chartered Director with
extensive practical experience leading and advising businesses. He
has held 23 directorships in four countries since 1988, including
two as managing director and five as chairman. He also acts as a
trustee and mentors young business people. He is a Visiting
Lecturer at the City of London’s Cass Business School.
Whilst teaching at the Joint Services Command and Staff
College in the nineties, Simon noticed how military decision making
could improve business performance and started to apply these ideas
in his own companies and those of his clients to great effect.
These techniques, informed by lessons from the battlefield, enable
business leaders to solve problems and create and implement plans
quickly and rigorously, whilst engendering real commitment from
their staff.
