BOMBER COMMAND

The most dangerous role in the Allied Armed Forces in the Second World War was to fly in the bomber fleets. Out of 125,000 airmen to fly in Bomber Command 55,000 men were killed or missing in action.

This tour is a chance to let your group get into the mindset of the bomber crews. The tour includes:

  • A trip in a Lancaster Bomber flight simulator
  • An insight into the experience of the aircrews as they were briefed and prepared for their mission.
  • A chance to embark as an aircrew in J for Jane, one of the last surviving Lancaster Bombers as if you were about to depart for the target for tonight.
  • Visit Woodall Spa for a sumptuous meal in the 617 Squadron Officers mess.
