Arras is a historic town which was on the front line in the Great War and associated with some of the bloodiest fighting, with a particular resonance for the British Commonwealth. The preserved trench network at Vimy Ridge is one of the most poignant locations. Two places in the area, Bullecourt and Fromelles are embedded in Australia’s history.
